Irene was born about 1917.1   Irene's father was Sidney Yardley Benbow and her mother was Zillah Irene Kedzlie.  Her paternal grandparents were Norman John Benbow and Anna Maria Yardley; her maternal grandparents were William Arthur Kedzlie and Rachael. She had two brothers and four sisters, named Mervyn Yardley, William Norman, Jacqueline, Margaret, Rachael Joyce and Phyllis.  She died in 1999.1
