Edward BURGESS

Edward was born on June 10th, 1853 in Launceston, Tas.¹ Edward's father was William BURGESS and his mother was Sarah JARMAN. His paternal grandparents were Richard BURGESS and Johannah SAUNDERS. He had six brothers and two sisters, named William, David, Frederick, George Henry, Alfred Albert, Walter, Mary Ann and Eliza. He was the fifth oldest of the nine children. He had a half-brother and eight half-sisters, named Francis, Martha, Louisa Laura, Jane Elizabeth Maria, Isabella Blanche, Alice Mary, Selina (Tottie), Maude and Mabel Isabelle.
