Edith Florence was born on March 8th, 1875 in Launceston, Tas.1   Edith Florence's father was John BURGESS and her mother was Mary Ann YOUNG.  Her paternal grandparents were Richard BURGESS and Johannah SAUNDERS. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Richard, John, Charles Henry, Harriet Mary Ann, Sarah Ann, Blanche and Alice Maud.  She was the youngest of the eight children.
