Somers Lyle was born in 1857.1   Somers Lyle's father was Arthur BIRCH and his mother was Sophia Jane LEEDER.  His maternal grandparents were William LEEDER and Hannah Emily FRENCH. He had seven brothers and three sisters, named Arthur Moss, Lewis Brown, Harry Sanford French, Edmund William Gregory, Herbert Ruhamah, Gerald Gourcy Lester, Errol Cyrus Carlton, Selina Evelyn, Sophia Florence and Ida Hannah.  He was the second oldest of the eleven children.
