Matthew Alford

Matthew was born in November 1844 in Tighlin near Ashford.¹ Matthew's father was Joseph Alford and his mother was Sarah Bodey. His paternal grandfather was John Alford; his maternal grandparents were Matthew Bodey and Ann Eleanor Carr. He had two brothers and six sisters, named John, Charles, Jane, Jane, Jane, Jane, Jane and Ann. He was the youngest of the nine children.
