AUGUSTUS' father was GEORGE and his mother was Charlotte Sophia of MECKLENBURG-STRELITZ.  His paternal grandparents were FREDERICK and Augusta of SAXE-GOTHA. He had six brothers and a sister, named EDWARD, WILLIAM, GEORGE, ERNEST, FREDERICK, ADOLPHUS and DAUGHTERS.  He died in 1843.
